1999 NCAA Championship

This was the type of event you'd never forget in your life. The UCONN Huskies won their first title in the NCAA tournament history.

Bonfire outside Gampel Pavilion right after victory over Duke.

The game took place in St. Petersburg, Florida and was broadcasted throughout the nation. The university had set up three huge screens in Gampel Pavilion, where husky fans watched the incredibly exciting final.

Richard (Rip) Hamilton, one of the top scorers and darn hot that night.

As of now (spring 2002) he is playing in the NBA team "Washington Wizards" and is doing really well.

Dirk and me in championship ecstasy.

Police and firemen at "the Jungle" during the semifinal bonfire.

During these days campus was flooded with camera teams and news people. For a couple days it felt like the center of the earth.

The welcome-home party in Gampel Pavilion for the National Champions!

Jim Calhoun (coach), the huskies and their trophy.

Campus was going crazy, I mean it was totally wild. This is video camera freeze frame from a bonfire after the semifinal. Thanks Aaron! ;))

This is Markus as we get our die-hard-husky-fan haircut.

That's my backhead. ;)

Markus and me, true huskies!
