| The historic Old State House, surrounded by tall office buildings in downtown
Boston. From this balcony the Declaration of Independence was first read to bostonians. |

| Quincy Market in christmas time. This place is probably THE tourist
attraction in Boston. It has a great variety of food places to offer. |
 |
| Stranded on the way back from our first trip to Boston with a popped
hood. This was a painful moment. Bettina and I had bought the car a couple of days ago
when the motor started steaming an hour away from UCONN. It was
Saturday night, no auto-garage was open, but luckily friends were
following us, so we decided to return to the car on Monday. It was
an adventure getting the car back to Storrs. To make a long story short,
we ended up having an expensive head gasket repair. Even though we cursed the car, it
turned out to be a reliable fellow during the course of the year.
In fact, I sold it to a student who drove it all the way to
the west coast. |
