Mt. St. Helens, Washington

This is the crater of Mt. St. Helens. A ranger told us, that if you'd take all humans living on earth and "filled" them into the creater, you wouldn't have enough volume to compensate what was blown away in the blast of May 18, 1980. Darn hard to imagine.

The crater of Mt. St. Helens lies to the right of this picture. As you can see the trees on the exposed part of this range have been snaped, while the ones in the protected backside are still standing.
